Anonymous diagnostics are optional and can be disabled in Settings. Reports exclude audio device details, screenshots, keyboard input, console output, and intentionally collected personal data.

If anonymous diagnostics are enabled, Sonactl sends error reports, sanitized crash stack traces, application version, operation type, audio-control backend, and sampled performance measurements to our Sentry project. Reports do not intentionally include audio device names or identifiers, volume or mute settings, application settings, user identity, screenshots, keyboard input, or console output. Sentry processes the device IP address when receiving the report; IP storage is disabled for the project. Keeping anonymous diagnostics enabled helps us detect, understand, and fix crashes and performance problems. When diagnostics are disabled, those issues are not reported and may take longer to identify and resolve. You can disable diagnostics at any time in Settings.
